Good news for Scotland – Uber has finally launched north of the border

Homenews

Grabbing a ride home just got a whole lot easier for people in Scotland.

As of 4pm on Friday, October 16, Glaswegians will be able to Uber a ride using their smartphones. Despite being available in eight major cities in England, the ride-hailing app is not available in Wales and had not been available anywhere in Scotland until now. Plans to introduce the service to Edinburgh earlier in the year were delayed and although officials insist they still hope to launch in the Scottish capital, they have admitted that they don't know exactly when that will be. In the meantime, those in Wales and Northern Ireland will have to wait their turn. https://twitter.com/kwilson81/status/654580638440407040
