Many of us know someone who has tried using Instagram to boost their Snapchat following.

There's every chance they just felt like trying out something new after learning they could share their custom Snapchat URL elsewhere, and decided to stick it in their Instagram bio. But whatever their motives, it's no longer possible. That's because Instagram have reportedly blocked all outgoing links to the social network, as well as links to messaging service Telegram. https://twitter.com/telegram/status/705125343011725312 According to the above post from Telegram, both Instagram and WhatsApp have cracked down on outgoing links to alternative platforms. A statement from Instagram owner Facebook, as reported by The Guardian, reads as follows:
'We’ve removed the ability to include ‘add me’ links on Instagram profile pages. 'This was a rare use-case, and not the way our platform was intended to be used. Other types of links are still allowed.'
