Homenews

The victims of the Hillsborough tragedy finally have justice, but there is still some cause for anger.

Families of the victims got the closure they deserved when it was ruled that the 96 who died at the 1989 FA Cup semi-final were killed unlawfully. Most national papers handled the news tactfully, carrying an announcement of the verdict on their front pages, but the two notable exceptions were The Sun and The Times. Former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer has hit out at the former for giving out free newspapers at Manchester Airport on Wednesday. Meanwhile, The Times has since amended its front page to include coverage of the Hillsborough story, but many believe it's too little too late. https://twitter.com/jimwaterson/status/725230661364277248

Only including a front-page mention in the second edition wasn't enough, for many.

And even the new version isn't enough for a lot of people.

And, perhaps understandably, people remain dumbfounded by the approach to the first edition.
