Rishi Sunak has resigned as Boris Johnson's Chancellor in the wake of the Chris Pincher scandal.
His letter follows the resignation of Sajid Javid as Health Secretary.
Writing on Twitter he said: "The public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously.
"I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning."
In the letter, Sunak cites policy as his reasoning for the split; he writes: “In preparation for our joint speech” on the economy, it became clear our approaches were “fundamentally too different”.
