Despite the presence of the police, it has since been confirmed by the former footballer's spokesman that the troubled star was not arrested.
"He hasn't been arrested," Terry Baker told the
Daily Mirror. "He's about to be released and sent home."
A spokeswoman for Scotland Yard also confirmed this, adding that he had been taken to hospital for treatment.
"The man has been taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition."
No arrests were made following the alleged altercation although the spokeswoman added that investigations were continuing.
