Berlin's Brandenburg Gate has been lit up with the Union Jack as a mark of respect to those affected by Thursday's terrorist attack in London.

Four people died during the attack on Westminster, including a policeman and the man responsible for the attack, today identified as Khalid Masood. 40 others were injured, some seriously. The Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of both the division and the reunification of Germany, is one of the city's most famous landmarks and is a popular attraction for visitors to the German capital. https://twitter.com/bbcbreaking/status/844972434247876610 The German Embassy in London shared a picture of the Gate on Twitter, tweeting: 'Tonight the Brandenburg Gate is illuminated in the colours of the Union Jack to commemorate the victims of the attack in Westminster.' https://twitter.com/GermanEmbassy/status/844980140992073728 The attack on London comes only three months after Berlin suffered an act of terrorism of its own. On December 19, a lorry was driven into Christmas markets at Breitscheidplatz. 12 people died with a further 56 injured.
