Rock on, guys

A pair of pensioners in Germany escaped their nursing home to attend the world's biggest metal festival. The two elderly men were discovered by police at Wacken Open Air at around 3am in the morning in a state that a police spokesperson called “disoriented and dazed". The two of them were then taken home in a taxi along with a police escort.

Speaking to media organisation Norddeutscher Rundfunk, the spokesperson added: “They obviously liked the metal festival. The care home quickly organised a return transport after police picked them up.”

Headliners this year included Judas Priest, Dimmu Borgir, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gojira and Children of Bodom. The festival was sold out and around 75,000 people are believed to have attended between 1-4 August.
