It turns out fans of the royals may have been pronouncing the name of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter wrong this whole time. Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4 and is the couple's second child, after 3-year-old Archie. While the name looks to be fairly simple, especially by royal standards, some people just can't get the pronunciation correct. According to Women's Health, you pronounce the name as "Lily-bet." Their daughter's name draws inspiration from Harry's mother, the late Princess Diana, and The Queen whose family nickname is Lilibet. According to Very Well Family, the name stemmed from Elizabeth's own mispronunciation of her name in her youth. The site also states that Lilibet is derived from the Hebrew name Elisheba, which means "God is my oath." The Queen met her great-granddaughter for the first time during her Platinum Jubilee, though only for a short moment. "She was working very hard to maintain her strength," royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti told US Weekly. "I think it's totally understandable that she was saving her energy as best she could for all the events that she wanted to be at if she possibly could." He continued: "We're talking about someone in their nineties and a baby.
