Nope, it wasn't just you.
WhatsApp was, for a brief while at least, not working properly on Thursday evening.
For reasons that are at this stage unknown, the app stopped sending and receiving messages for many of its users.
Having no doubt turned their phones on and off and refreshed the app a few hundred times to make absolutely sure, WhatsApp users the world over took to Twitter to be absolutely sure that the problem wasn't just affecting them....

According to the Independent, WhatsApp users across Europe experienced problems with the app, as did people in South America - especially in Brazil.
