The odd American dentist aside, very few people get any real kind of enjoyment out of seeing animals shot. Unfortunately, in these circumstances, there was very little alternative.

Having already attacked and injured a man, a lion was shot and killed after straying from a wildlife park on the outskirts of Nairobi. Kenyan rangers were forced to open fire on the animal when it came into close proximity to a group of people. Gunshots are heard in the footage below, before the male lion is seen limping.
