Holy name-change, Batman! Student becomes ‘Adam West’ to avoid Ryanair charges

A British student saved more than £100 in airline fees, and all he had to do was legally change his name.

Adam Armstrong changed his Facebook name to that of Batman actor Adam West as a joke, but the prank backfired when his girlfriend's stepdad booked him onto a flight to Ibiza under that identity. It was all fun and games until he discovered changing the name on the Ryanair booking would cost him a hefty £220. We're not sure if the 19-year-old Mancunian is a maths student, but his mental arithmetic is certainly up to scratch as he quickly found a way to cut that figure in half...by becoming Adam West himself. He changed his name by deed poll (for free), and a new passport for 'Adam West' cost just over £100. The saving will surely come in handy, especially on a student budget. Perhaps he'll put his quick-thinking to good use in another way...fighting crime in Gotham City perhaps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqIUiWURk6k H/T The Sun
