On the first day of the case, the 36-year-old actress claimed: "I still have love for Johnny." This statement was repeated to Heard by the TODAY Show's Savannah Guthrie, who questioned whether it's still true.
"Yes," Heard replied quickly before adding, "Absolutely. I love him. I loved him with all my heart and I tried the best I could to make a deeply broken relationship work, and I couldn't."
She also claimed to have "no bad feelings or ill will" for Depp.
Another clip from the landmark interview saw Heard take aim at the legions of Depp fans that congregated outside the trial in Fairfax, Virginia.
"I think even the most well-intentioned juror…it would have been impossible to avoid this. Every single day I passed three, four, sometimes six city blocks lined with people holding signs saying 'Burn the Witch,' 'Death to Amber," she explained. "After three and a half weeks, I took the stand and saw a courtroom packed full of Captain Jack Sparrow fans who were vocal, energized."
She added: "This was the most humiliating and horrible thing I've ever been through," she continued. "I have never felt more removed from my own humanity. I felt less than human."
