After a year of making fans wait for fresh footage, Rockstar Games may finally be ready to drop new information on its long-awaited crime sim and it could be happening today.

The first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer dropped all the way back in December 2023, while the second video made its debut almost exactly a year ago, on May 6, 2025.

With the November 19 release date creeping ever closer, fans have been desperate for new information about GTA 6, specifically how much it will cost, when they can pre-order, and whether we can expect any additional delays.

Needless to say, we also want to see more gameplay footage, and will all be picking apart each frame to discover new details, locations, vehicles, and more.

Fortunately, it looks like we may not have to wait much longer, at least if the latest leak is anything to go by.

Mark this date in your diary, because if the report doing the rounds online is to be believed, GTA 6 pre-orders could go live today, May 18.

That's according to a Best Buy email to affiliate marketing partners, which appears to have been sent out prematurely.

The email reportedly includes a special offer of a 5% discount when you pre-order a physical edition of GTA 6 between May 18 and May 21.

Insider Gaming has since claimed it independently verified the email with multiple affiliates, tracing it back to Impact, one of the biggest affiliate marketplaces around.

While this isn't proof that Trailer 3 will land on the same day, the signs very much suggest something is coming. Unless this is an elaborate hoax orchestrated by a whole load of different people, the most likely scenario is that pre-orders go live following the release of Trailer 3 on May 18 — or at the very least, in the days that follow.

It's worth noting that some insiders have poured cold water on the idea that pre-orders are opening today specifically, with reports over the weekend claiming the actual launch window may be slightly later.

Rockstar Games and Best Buy have also stayed completely silent on the matter, which is very much par for the course.

Still, with Take-Two's earnings call scheduled for May 21, the exact day the supposed Best Buy promotion ends, the timing fits a little too neatly to ignore.

Releasing a new trailer would also seem to be in the best interests of Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two, especially if the latest share prices are anything to go by.

The very mention of GTA 6 pre-orders reportedly added around $2 billion to Take-Two's market value overnight, so who knows how much shares could jump if a brand new trailer actually drops.

In terms of what we know so far, GTA 6 takes place in the fictional US state of Leonida, which is based on Florida.

Players will once again be able to control multiple characters as they explore the sights and sounds of Vice City.

We'll be back with the latest updates, leaks, and any other announcements, so keep checking back for more information.
