God bless Armando Iannucci and HBO...

It is this combination of dark wit and uncensored cable network that has given us Veep, the caustic comedy based on Selina Meyer's imaginary political career. There is so much to love about the US show: the farcical storylines, the beautifully written characters, its satirical take on real-life politics, and much, much more. But perhaps most of all, the programme has perfected the art of the searing profanity. No other show since Iannucci's The Thick of It anywhere comes close.
