The Prodigy have just been announced as headliners for this year's Victorious Festival.
Alongside Paul Weller, the two UK music heavyweights join The Libertines and Kaiser Chiefs at the top of the bill for the Portsmouth-based festival that takes place 24th-26th August 2018.
Closing out the August Bank Holiday festival on Sunday 26th August, it will be The Prodigy's only festival appearance of the year. Following six #1 albums and jaw-dropping live performances across the world, the original masters of big beat remain one of the most successful electronic acts of all-time and this exclusive live show at Victorious 2018 is set to be an unparalleled festival finale.
Paul Weller has been announced as the Saturday (25th) headliner. The multi-talented musician has been busy crafting new music, which he promises will “push the boundaries." Following widespread critical acclaim for his 13th studio album, A Kind Revolution, the former Jam and Style Council frontman is guaranteed to be a festival highlight.
Other second phase artists revealed today include Paloma Faith, Friendly Fires, Years & Years, Happy Mondays and Everything Everything.
“We’re tremendously excited about this year’s festival," said festival Director Andy Marsh. "We were determined to pull out all the stops and deliver something incredible and I’m proud to say I think it’s our best line-up yet."
Adding that there are plenty of other acts to announce in the coming months, Marsh added: “It’s safe to say Victorious 2018 is going to be truly spectacular, we can’t wait!”
Elsewhere on the impressive bill is singer/songwriter Gabrielle Aplin, who shot to fame with her haunting rendition of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s hit “The Power of Love”.
Also: Tom Walker, Coasts, Lucy Spraggan, Genghar, Cabbage, Yonaka, Mullally, The Seahorses frontman Chris Helme, The Futureheads vocalist and guitar player Barry Hyde, Gomez, The Amazons, Embrace, Gaz Coombes, Billy Bragg, Pigeon Detectives, The Bluetones, Sleeper, Jerry Williams, and Southsea Alternative Choir, who will be offering multiple performances across various stages throughout the weekend.
Victorious Festival takes place 24th-26th August 2018 in Portsmouth on the Southsea Seafront. Tickets are available here.
