According to Entertainment Weekly, the special will see the Rangers come "face to face with a familiar threat from the past".
"In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs," the plot synopsis from the outlet states.
In the behind-the-scenes teaser for the series reunion, Sutherland says it will contain "so many little easter eggs" for fans.
"I just think it's going to give the fans everything they want," she adds.
Meanwhile, Yost states: "It's such a different take on what we've done before but a lot of the same elements are there."
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always will premiere on 19 April.
