Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn has spoken out about his ambition of playing a young Robert Downey Jr. in a biopic about his life.
Straight off the back of his Stranger Things success and subsequent cult following, the 29-year-old has thrown his name in the hat for a role not currently available. Appearing on The Movie Podcast, Quinn admitted that Downey Jr, 57, is "one of his favourite" actors of all time.
The hosts rightly pointed out that many fans have drawn comparisons between the two. That being said, Quinn's name has dominated social media in recent weeks, from fans lamenting his final scene to Doja Cat enquiring about his relationship status.
"If there would be a Robert Downey Jr. biopic, I would so want Joseph Quinn to play him," one fan wrote online, while another added: "If your Robert Downey Jr. movie needs a young version of RDJ, you don't need to spend the money on digitally de-aging him. Just cast Joseph Quinn."
Asking Quinn whether he'd seen fans calling for the casting, the British actor replied: "I mean, I can't… I've never kind of checked myself out in the mirror and been, like, 'looking pretty RDJ today'. No, I mean, I'm not going to lie, I've got, like, Justin Timberlake, a little bit in the past, which is not bad."

He added: "But RDJ is one of my favourite actors - I think he's brilliant. And to be compared to him is amazing. He's had a pretty interesting life, so like I don't know… yeah. I'd totally play. Yeah, we'll see."

Quinn also said it would be "pretty cool" to play a young Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans of the franchise will know that Stark died in Avengers: Endgame, so perhaps there's something in a playboy Tony before he made the very first suit in Afghanistan.
Fingers crossed for future opportunities!
