Peter Kay was criticised by Strictly Come Dancing viewers for his appearance on Saturday night's show, live from Blackpool.
The Bolton comedian had announced his first stand-up tour in eight years earlier in the week, and used an unexpected appearance on Saturday night's show to remind viewers that tickets went on sale on Sunday morning.
Introduced by a town crier, Kay was supposed to read out terms and conditions for voting on the BBC show. However, Kay instead decided to abandon this halfway through to remind those watching of when tickets for his tour would become available.

Kay, who sparked controversy last year after appearing to make a 'homophobic' joke about then contestant Judge Rinder touching him, pretended that the town crier had grabbed his backside.
