Peter Dinklage has branded the live-action Snow White and Seven Dwarfs remake "f*cking backwards" for its portrayal of those with dwarfism.
While Snow White has been cast as Latina breakout star Rachel Zegler, who recently starred in West Side Story, the acting veteran questioned Disney's choices, asking: "what the f*** are you doing man?"
Appearing on comedian Marc Maron's WTF Podcast to discuss his latest film Cyrano, the 52-year-old discussed "wokeness" before turning to the upcoming Disney reboot.
He said: "Literally no offence to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. You're still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
"Take a step back and look at what you're doing there. It makes no sense to me."
He continued: "You're progressive in one way and you're still making that f***ing backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f*** are you doing man?"
While the film has been applauded for casting a Latina actress as Snow White, who is typically white, the story itself has often been dubbed as ableist for its portrayal of the titular dwarfs.
The Game of Thrones actor continued: "Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soap box? I guess I'm not loud enough.
"All love and respect to the actress and all the people who thought they were doing the right thing. But I'm just like, what are you doing?"
