As we all know, the Great British Bake Off will soon be heading to pastures new.

The beloved BBC show is on its way to Channel 4, but there was one last chance for fans to wave goodbye to those who will not be joining the programme in its new home. Mary Berry will not follow Paul Hollywood to the new channel, but she was around for the Christmas specials which brought back some former contestants for a final hurrah. Presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins are also set to leave, but both were in form for the festive episodes. Long-serving fans were bound to get emotional at the end of an era in baking-based television, but no one was ready for the montage which greeted them at the show's climax. https://twitter.com/BBCOne/status/813474508745031680 Emotions were running high at the end of the last regular series, which crowned Candice as its final champion of the BBC era. However, while there was a sense of finality back then, this was really the end. https://twitter.com/hansmollman/status/813474528882032640

Not everyone was ready for something quite as moving as this. Especially after the usual Christmas TV toyed with our emotions as it always does.

We're not crying, you're crying.

But it was as good a way as any to bow out.
