6 Oscars, 7 Golden Globes and 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Netflix will be adding La La Land to their website and the musical will be available to watch this weekend. When it came to award season, Damien Chazelle's film absolutely dominated as it won six Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Emma Stone.
It tells the story of Mia (Emma), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
Since being released, the film has earned a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and despite that mixup between Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty at the Oscars, it's still a critical darling.
It may not have won Best Picture, but it might be the best option for some film fans on Netflix.
