Twenty years after the third instalment of Austin Powers, Mike Myers has offered a rather confusing explanation for a fourth edition.
Appearing on SiriusXM'sThe Jess Cagle Show to promote his new Netflix show, The Pentaverate, the 58-year-old comedy veteran both confirmed and unconfirmed the rumours. Essentially, he said a lot of words really fast, reports ComicBook.com.
Myers said he'd "love" to make a fourth movie but can't confirm whether anything is in the works. His statements echo director Jay Roach's, who previously admitted to wanting another shot.
"I would love to do one. I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist? You know, we're, you know..." he said.
Co-hosts Cagle and Julia Cunningham then highlighted that his statement seemingly confirms speculation.
"It was a non-confirmed, confirmation confirmation," Myers replied.
Fan demand for another film has been prevalent since 2005, and Myers is often asked about the film in various interviews. In 2018, he suggested that the film would pay tribute to Mini-Me actor Verne Troyer who died in April of that year.
Back in 2020, Roach said: "I wouldn't say never never...I'm always game for whatever [Mike Myers] wants to do.
"It does depend on Mike having something that he's inspired about, and so far, after all these years, it hasn't quite clicked yet."
Shots were fired Actor Brian Cox has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to star in Pirates of the Caribbean because of Johnny Depp starring in the films. The Golden Globe winning actor, 79, said that he refused the role of the Governor, which eventually went to Jonathan Pryce, and said the film is […]
