Supporters of Making a Murderer's Steven Avery have gone to great lengths to show their support for the convicted murderer, but the latest development looks like a step too far.

The Manitowoc Sheriff's Department, whose role in Avery's 2007 conviction has been the subject of much criticism, has reportedly been the subject of a bomb threat from individuals purporting to support the 53-year-old's release. The incident comes just days after Avery, who was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach, wrote a letter thanking his supporters for their efforts. Avery, whose case was the subject of the Netflix series Making a Murderer, has protested his innocence throughout the process.
