'I just think it was in God's plan... I think he has me here for a reason'
Netflix has released the first full trailer for jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy a huge, three-part docuseries that chronicles Kanye West's rise to global fame - and it looks as epic as you might expect.
Directed by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah - the filmmaking duo known collectively as Coodie & Chike who are known for shooting music videos and feature-length docs - jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy promises to be a no-holds-barred look at the controversial creator's beginnings and subsequent rise to mega stardom.

As you can see, Coodie and Chike have been following Kanye - or Ye as he's currently known - for a long time, gaining a unique perspective on his career and journey to the dizzying top of the music industry.
The trailer begins with a voice over explaining: "When I first put the camera on this up-and-coming producer back in 1998, I knew he was destined for greatness.
"The goal was to see how far his dreams would take him, but I had no idea where life would take us next. It felt like the bigger Kanye got, the farther we grew apart. But there was more to Kanye's story that I needed to tell."
According to official information released alongside the trailer, this documentary trilogy will offer fans "an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist."
However while this project appeared to start as a symbiotic endeavour between its creators and star, it doesn't seem to have ended on such glowing terms.
Taking to Instagram in late January, Ye put his foot down - demanding that he gets final cut on Coodie and Chike's upcoming series in order to be "in charge of [my] own image".
It was a request that the directors have since denied.
The film is set to get a theatrical release in America starting from February 10 however it'll be available for UK viewers to watch on Netflix from February 16.
