He may be one of the finest actors of his generation but thanks to Don't Look Up, Leonardo DiCaprio's unbelievable acting record looks to have come to an end. It was inevitable really - not unlike the overarching theme of the movie.
The Netflix original has had a fairly mixed reception since its home release in December - some people love it, others think its far-too-on-the-nose climate change metaphors wastes a stellar cast - but one thing is for sure, it's left DiCaprio walking out less than fresh.

While 'perfect' would be an overstatement, DiCaprio has at least 17 films certified as 'fresh' on the site and hadn't been tied to a 'rotten' score since Baz Luhrmann's 2013 take on The Great Gatsby. Pretty good going considering the sheer quality he has been associated with ever since.
However, while the audience score may be somewhat higher (77 per cent) as it often tends to be on the site aggregator, the critics' average has it sitting at just 56 per cent, meaning it's just four per cent below the minimum score needed for it to be considered fresh.
DiCaprio has at least 29 performances that are rated fresh or higher on the site - 13 of those being 'certified fresh'. Among his many high rated hits - What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Revenant, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Aviator and so on - Catch Me if You Can is still his best-reviewed film on the site, sitting at an incredible 96 per cent.
All that being said, Don't Look Up still has a lot going for it and DiCaprio's presence in the film is just one of many appearances by Hollywood royalty, with Meryl Streep also starring alongside him.
Moreover, many are still tipping the 47-year-old actor for an Oscar following his performance, with an impressive 16-minute improvised scene reportedly taking him two full days to pull off.
