While many people in this country accepts and indeed favours the government's approach to tackling coronavirus through a lockdown, Hitchens is a lonely dissenting voice, arguing that the UK approach is disproportionate to the threat it presents.
While the state's advice is to stay at home and socially distance from others, Hitchens says he's concerned about the economic consequence of this will be worse than the damage caused by the virus itself.
