With the swipe of a pen, the government called for all rough sleepers to be housed in the United Kingdom. Why, some have asked, could this be done so quickly now at a time of national crisis, but not before? Homelessness is a disgrace for any developed nation, particular one of the world's wealthiest, not just when a pandemic strikes. Andy Burnham is the Mayor of Greater Manchester and was the UK's health secretary during the swine flu pandemic. He spoke to JOE about the government's response to Coronavirus, and whether it could end up changing society for the better.
